Stinger 7 Day Detox Review: Do Detox Cleansers Really Work?

Last Updated:

Do detox cleansers really work? There are a lot of cleansing products you’ve probably heard of, like detox drinks, capsules, and detox pills, all promising to rid your system of undesirable toxins and metabolites. Stinger 7 Day Detox is one such product, this time in the form of a green syrup that promises to clean your system of these metabolites in one week.

But does it really work? Will it help you pass a drug test? How does it compare to more expensive detox solutions? Read on to find out.

How Urine Tests Work

When a person takes drugs, the drugs are absorbed by the body and broken down by the liver. The altered and broken down substances are called metabolites.

Metabolites enter your bloodstream and end up in different places in your body. Some metabolites stay in your body, and THC especially becomes stored in your body’s fat cells. Eventually THC metabolites get filtered out by your kidneys, and get excreted through urine and feces.

Urine drug tests, otherwise known as urine drug screens, detect drug users by identifying specific metabolites in their urine that correspond to particular drugs. THC, for example, is metabolized into THCCOOH, while methamphetamine is metabolized into amphetamine.

How Detox Products Work to Help You Pass Urine Tests

Normally it takes the body only 72 hours to eliminate the metabolites of water-soluble drugs like cocaine or methamphetamine, but can take up to 30 days for fat-soluble drugs like THC. Detox cleansers promise to accelerate the process of eliminating metabolites, so that something that would normally take an entire month can be done in a much shorter time period.

Stinger 7 Day Total Detox Review

Stinger 7 Day Total Detox, from Stinger Detox, is a medium-term, ultra-concentrated, relatively inexpensive product that promises to help the body cleanse itself in seven days. The marketing is a little coy about addressing THC directly, so that’s a little worrying.

Two For The Price Of One

stinger detox packageUnlike a short-term cleanser drink like Stinger 5X, you don’t drink the whole 8 oz. bottle of Stinger 7 Day Total Detox in one go. Instead, you’re supposed to take one tablespoon in the morning and one tablespoon at night before meals, or two teaspoons each if you weigh over 180 pounds or if you have a high level of toxins in your body.

Since the website only gives you the option to buy two bottles at a time, it seems like Stinger Detox assumes most users will need the extra strength option, which is great if you are a regular or heavy smoker. Stinger Detox warns that a common mistake is to use a teaspoon instead of a tablespoon, which will ruin the calculated dosage.

The bright and colorful packaging, complete with a rather aggressive looking cartoon bee, seems to be leaning hard into the stoner demographic that the product is targeting.

Green Potion

Stinger 7 Day Permanent Cleanser Detox comes in a small plastic 8 oz. bottle that displays the almost neon-green liquid inside, although Stinger Detox assures its customers that the product “contains no scary or unproven herbs or chemicals.”

It promises to cleanse the body permanently unless the toxins are reintroduced into the system. Still, as a product classified as a dietary supplement, it makes no claims evaluated by the FDA, so take Stinger’s promises with a grain of salt.

The product description mentions that toxins accumulate in hair, fat cells, blood and urine, and then proceeds to promise to cleanse your body in one week. But will it really cleanse all of those things? Specifically, will it cleanse your urine enough to be free of metabolites in one week?

Is That Supposed To Be Lime?

The actual taste is not too bad, some sort of artificial lime flavor. The bottle should be refrigerated after opening, so this will probably be sitting in your fridge for a week. Fortunately, for people who are not fans of the taste, this product can be mixed with water or juice.

The directions also warn against consuming any red meat or dairy products like milk or cheese half an hour before taking the cleanser, probably to avoid any additional stress to your liver, colon, or kidneys, which are always working hard during a cleanse.

This is an added concern for users over 180 pounds, who have to take twice the dosage according to the directions, and who are therefore putting twice the stress on their internal organs. In any case, drinking more water should help out your kidneys, liver, and colon.

Stay Hydrated, Stay Moving, Stay Clean

Like many other detox products, Stinger 7 Day Detox advises users to drink as much water as possible. Exercise is a good way to cleanse, with or without the use of a detox product. Sweating is supposed to accelerate the process of cleansing and drinking enough water will ensure that the body replenishes any fluids that were lost. Stinger suggests taking a 30 minute walk each day to work up a good sweat.

Stinger Detox also advises on its website for users to refrain from any other medications, such as cold medicines or extra strength pain relievers, while still on the seven-day cleanse. It’s not clear if this is because of false positives or because it would interfere with the cleanse.

Testing Yourself

At the end of the cleanse, use a home testing kit to make sure that the product worked. Never assume that a particular product worked just because you did everything it said in the directions. There might have been a small detail you missed, and a home test can save you from major embarrassment at the workplace.

Most home testing kits are urine tests and are simple to administer. Just take a urine sample in the bathroom, apply it to the test, and read the results. Home kits are surprisingly accurate and can detect even a small amount of metabolite.

So Does It Work?

But does Stinger 7 Day Detox work? Will it reduce the metabolites in the urine of even the heaviest smoker to a degree where they can pass a workplace drug test?

Some users report that the product works, as long as you adhere to all the prohibitions – no alcohol, no cigarettes, no over-the-counter and prescription medicines, no fatty foods or dairy products, drink lots of water. The issue with this, however, is that THC is fat-soluble, so increased water intake may not completely eliminate it from your body

But a lot of users report testing positive despite using multiple Stinger products at a time. Some were heavy users, while others claimed to have failed multiple drug tests despite having followed all the directions. Still other users weighed over 230 lbs and neglected to take twice the dosage as directed.

The consensus seems to be that you really need all seven days for the product to be effective. Also, alcohol could be a contributing factor for failing the drug test, as both THC and alcohol are processed by the liver. This means the consuming alcohol could interfere with your liver’s ability to metabolize THC.

Most successful users abstained from using alcohol during the detox week. Naturally, they also abstained from any other drugs that corporate drug tests detect, such as cocaine or methamphetamine. These may also interfere with the liver’s action on THC.

Still, inconsistent results like these don’t give potential buyers much confidence in the product.  Again, make sure to test yourself with a home drug test after completing any detox regimen. Home tests are cheap and readily available. As with any remedy from the internet, your mileage may vary.

Is Stinger 7 Day Detox My Best Option?

In the end, Stinger 7 Day Detox is a fairly good medium-term detox option, with a reasonable rate of success. It’s convenient, easy to take, and works a significant amount of the time.

But for a thorough detoxification that can eliminate even concentrated levels of THC, your best bet is probably a more complete THC detox kits like Toxin Rid 10. While medium-term solutions like Stinger’s concentrated solution might eliminate THC from urine tests, a complete detox system can purge toxins from blood, urine, and saliva.

With a complete detox system like Toxin Rid, you can relax and let the program eliminate the unwanted substances from your body. And at the end of the day, aren’t you taking a detox product for some peace of mind?
