Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo Review: How Effective Is It?
Hair tests are notoriously difficult to beat! The tester takes a sample directly from your head, so there’s no way you can fake or substitute it. Your only option is to manually strip your hair follicles with a detox shampoo.
Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo is one of the most popular products when it comes to getting ready for a hair test – and for good reason! I use this detox shampoo regularly before hair test check-ups and I pass every time.
What Does Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo Do?
Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo is the go-to product for anyone looking to pass a drug hair test. Its formula is so potent that it’s able to open up hair cuticles and clean up all the toxins that have built up in the area.
But it’s NOT enough to ONLY use Aloe Toxin Rid! For the best results, you’ll need to pair it with Zydot Ultra Clean which is recommended as a partner product on the company’s website. It gives you the highest chance of passing the test – and when your job is on the line, it’s definitely worth the cost!
How Does a Hair Follicle Test Even Work?
A hair test is conducted to find out whether you’ve taken any drugs in the past three months. Basically, they cut about 1.5 inches of your hair close to the nape of your neck. Afterward, they send it to a lab where it’ll be tested for drug metabolites which will confirm if you’ve used drugs within that three-month window.
Short Hair, Don't Care
Unfortunately, people with short hair don’t get a free pass when it comes to a drug test like this one. Usually, they’ll just take facial hair or body hair as long as it’s long enough. The only hair you won’t need to worry about are your pubes – they’re not allowed to take hair from down there! Thank God!
How to Use Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo?
Honestly, using this product was a piece of cake. First, I started by applying my regular shampoo and then rinsing as I normally would. Next, I applied the Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo and let it sit in my hair for about 20 minutes (15 minutes is enough though!).
I made it a point to wash my hair twice every day – once in the morning before work and another before going to bed. It’s important to frequently wash your hair especially when you’re short on time because you want to strip away the toxins as much as possible.
When Should You Start Using It?
The short answer: ASAP!
The more time you have to wash your hair with the rid detox shampoo, the better! The moment you receive word that there might be a drug test coming up, it’s literally a sign from the universe to whip out the trusty Old Style shampoo and get scrubbing.
I was fortunate enough to have found out about my drug test about two weeks in advance and that extra time helped me get ahead on the detox process. But if you only have a week or a few days left, I suggest you wash your hair at least three times every day to save your ass.
The Macujo Method
A ton of people, particularly stoners, swear by this method to clean your hair effectively before a drug test.
You’ll need the following:
- Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo
- White Vinegar (you can also use salicylic shampoo)
- Clean & Clear Astringent
- Zydot Ultra Clean
- Shower Caps
- A handful of prayers to da Lord
First, wet your hair with warm water and apply vinegar all over your scalp, making sure you cover each hair strand. Next, you’ll need to apply Clean & Clear on top of the vinegar you just added, throw on your shower cap, and let it sit for an hour. EXPECT IT TO STING (AND STINK) LIKE HIGH HELL.
After an agonizing hour, rinse your hair with water thoroughly and wash it with Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid shampoo twice. You’ll then wash your hair with detergent, rinse, wash with Zydot Ultra Clean, rinse, and you’re done. Make sure you refrain from smoking up or taking anything until after the drug test.
Why Bleaching Isn't A Reliable Option
If you’ve never bleached your hair before and do so to pass a drug test, then I’m sorry to tell you that it probably won’t work. Toxins will likely still be detected after only ONE treatment of bleaching because of the metabolites present in your hair strands. Dyeing your hair out of the blue can also raise some suspicion, so you might want to skip this option.
However, if you regularly bleach your hair, then you actually stand a fighting chance. Frequently bleached hair = damaged strands, making it harder to detect metabolites to determine drug use. Of course, it’s a little risky to rely solely on bleach so it’s advisable to use the Macujo method to make sure you’re clean.
Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo Ingredients
While there are several ingredients here that you’d find in regular shampoo, a few stand-out components make the Aloe Rid Detox Shampoo different.
- Propylene Glycol. This compound is extremely effective in penetrating the hair shaft to remove toxins.
- Cocamide MEA. This is extracted from coconut oil and is found in most detox shampoos because of its ability to go through the different layers of hair strands.
- Aloe Barbadensis Leaf. Aloe is known for removing toxins. This is also great for keeping your scalp and strands moisturized, especially if you used The Macujo Method which consists of A LOT of drying products that could irritate your skin.

Where Can You Buy Old Style Toxin Rid Shampoo?
I bought the product directly from their official site to make sure I was getting the real deal. There are tons of scams out there, so it’s important to be wary about where you make your purchases.
Is This The Best Rid Detox Shampoo?
I’d definitely say that Old Style Aloe Toxin Rid Shampoo is one of the most effective products on the market. The results speak for themselves – tons of people have used it and passed their drug tests, myself included. Although you may need to pair it with Zydot Extra Clean or the Macujo Method, it’s a great shampoo that gets the job done.
